Annual Maintenance

Annual maintenance: Begins Saturday 9 January at the wet dock, Penzance, at 10.30 every Saturday. 
All welcome.  Liaise with Mark Mitchell or John Van der Hoff  to ensure maintenance will be taking place on that day.

Wednesday 15th March. -  7.30 for 8 pm.  Annual General Meeting

Nominations for election to the Executive Committee and any other business items should be sent in writing or email to the secretary Neil Mills by 1st March.


Members are reminded that the annual subscription of £20 becomes due at the AGM. However, those who joined after 1 September 2016 are covered through to March 2018.

An introduction to the marine life of the Mount's Bay Marine Conservation Zone;

Marine biologist Matt Slater shares his enthusiasm and stories of the wonderful marine life in Cornish waters and specifically Mount's Bay Marine Conservation Zone. Find out about how you can get involved with monitoring the health of this incredible place, and how you can help influence the way the area is managed. Winter Maintenance

Happy Return is currently laid up ashore in Gweek boatyard for repair and general maintenance.  

We are looking for volunteers to help out on Saturdays (commencing 1st October) with all general maintenance tasks such as sanding/painting, cleaning etc.  

The work day normally commences at 10:30 and finishes at around 16:00.

 If you can spare a few hours within that time frame to help out, please contact skipper John vd H for details of where to meet etc.  Telephone number is on the printed program - or send an email via the link on Sailing Program - click here.  

Please note that John does not have a mobile signal at his home address, but you can leave a message on his voice mail.
 
Work does occasionally take place on weekdays and there will be a few of us there on 29th September (Thursday) so let me know if you would like to join in.

Cadgwith, Singing in the Pub - and sailing East

Join skipper Peter and Mate Ges for an exciting sail around the Lizard to Cadgwith followed by and evening in the Cadgwith Cove Inn for "Every Friday – Cadgwith Singers (sea shanties by our local fishermen)" see their web site - Cadgwith Cove Web Site.

Following day - sail on to Helford, the Fal, Mevagissy - as your fancy takes you.

Join us for this bi-annual event in Mousehole.

Friday evening - short sail over to Mousehole.

Saturday - Fun on the quay and a sailing regatta with  the possibility of a race against other luggers around the bay.

Sunday - more of the same with a return to Penzance late afternoon.
